KARACHI: As many as 12 local and outstation teams will vie for honours when the postponed all-Sindh National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) Cup basketball tournament gets into action at the Arambagh floodlit court on Nov 27, the organisers announced on Thursday.

Earlier, the event which was slated to take place from Oct 19-26, was postponed due to other commitments as well as Moharram.

The teams have been equally drawn into four groups and top two from each will cruise into semi-finals.

Groups:

A: District South Whites, District East Greens and Sukkur.

B: District Central, District Malir Whites and Larkana.

C: District East Whites, District West and Mirpurkhas.

D: District Malir Greens, District South Greens and Hyderabad.

According to draws, three matches will be played daily for first four days followed by two quarter-finals on Dec 1 and the remaining two the next day.

The two semi-finals take place on Dec 3 while the final is fixed for Dec 4.

Former international Abdul Nasir is the organising secretary of the event.
