Hundreds of gay rights activists marched through central New Delhi on Sunday to demand an end to discrimination against members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered (LGBT) community in India.
Holding balloons, flags and placards, activists and their supporters sang songs and danced to the beat of drums as they held hands and walked in the rally, which has been held annually over the past few years.
Many wore multi-colored wigs, while others wore face masks or had painted their faces. Some activists carried a 15-metre rainbow-coloured banner, a symbol of LGBT pride. - Text by AP

Good development. It is time people realized that homosexuality is not a disease, but only a condition brought about by our genes.Homosexuals must be allowed lead their lives peacefully.

How come a cheerful symbol like "rainbow" and a word like "gay" has to be associated with homosexuals, considering the fact that the intimate act involved in male homosexuality is very disturbing and disgusting. I guess anything can be shoved down the throat of a nation in the name of progress and modernity.

@ConcerenedPakistani Much of India stills holds to conservative,traditional views about many an issue.
But,in urban areas,liberal ideas are growing....a very welcome change....it has got nothing to do with the West or East.
These liberal ideas find their expression in more mature,affluent societies and if, one is looking for a name for them,..it is called "western" for it first comes from that part of the planet where these ideas take root;;;
I would not want any one to face criminal charges or targeted for being different!!!

Like all their other superstitious beliefs, muslims have been brainwashed to believe that homosex is actually a disease. Why muslims never question their almighty that why that almighty chose to design a human as a gay or LGBT? oh yes, slaves never had the guts to question their almighty and as a consequence their ability to live independent of someone else's beliefs/behaviour is lost. Pathetic community.

Being homosexual is a choice, you choose your sexual preference , being gay is a result of your choices, you guys are not special, I do not have to agree to the homosexual agenda, end of the day, families are not born from gay couples

@Allaisa whether or not Indians allow elections in Kashmir does not negate the fact that Kashmiris simply do not wish to be Indian. Has there ever been a massive Anti-Pakistan rally in Muzaffarabad or elsewhere as there commonly are on the other side of the LOC? No. Is there a huge Pakistani army patrolling every street corner in Azad Kashmir like there is on the other side of the LOC? No. Azad Kashmir doesn't have the same feeling of being an occupied land. Azad Kashmiris never rebelled against Pakistan, even though there is no massive Pakistani Army presence in its cities. I know this for a fact because I am from a very small village right on the LOC called Chakothi, and no one ever wants to rise up against Pakistan like my relatives in Uri on the other side of LOC hate India.
