LAHORE: Pakistan Awami Tehreek Chairman Dr Tahirul Qadri has asked his supporters to “keep their morale high” as he will soon return from abroad after getting well.
Dr Qadri on Wednesday left for the United States for his medical treatment.
Talking to reporters before his departure, the PAT chief said: “Soon after getting well I will be back among my supporters and the Inqlab (revolution) movement will be resumed. I ask my party workers to keep their morale high.”
Dr Qadri said as no movement for change could succeed without PAT, therefore all protesting parties must unite on one platform.
Talking about the Model Town incident, he said the PAT would never accept that the action against its activists was taken without the permission of Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
“Any compromise on the Model Town tragedy will be considered treason,” he said.
The PAT chief said the inquiry report of the judicial commission had not been made public yet.
He said the joint investigation team (JIT) formed apparently to satisfy the heirs of the PAT martyrs would not be acceptable to the party.
“We hold the Punjab government responsible for the June 17 incident,” he said.
