That was another "Time"and another type of "Teachers", now as parents it's a constant struggle to not only send but also to keep these kids in school.We too want teachers like Änwer Masood for our children.

Anwar Masood is Legend!! Respect!

My father and I have always been a great fan of him. This is due to my father's keen interest in Punjabi poetry that I remember many of his poems by heart. ''Ajj ki pakayea, Maa, lassi tay chaa, his lucid, facetious, candid and exciting laughter style inspires me a lot. He is a teacher beyond the limits of teaching, he is not a mentor to make his students learn the knowledge, he himself an ocean of intellect and discernment.

First thanks for Alif Ailaan to produce such a beautiful material. Anwar Masood words have so much passion, and beauty; I really enjoyed this video.

Not a native Punjabi speaker but dabble enough to be able to follow this giant of Punjabi poem. Immense, profound, deep and humble are a few adjectives that pop into mind.

I have the privilege to be the student of Professor Anwar Masood. I still remember the golden days when he was teaching in Govt College Satellite Town, Rawalpindi. We used to enjoy his Urdu period and his famous focusing phrase " Meer bhi yehi kehta tha".

Good teachers are great and hard to come by. Unfortunately, they don't get their due share of respect, dignity and remuneration in the "land of the pure."

I fully agree with Anwar Masood. If a teacher is dedicated no student will ever miss your class. This I have observed in my entire career that it is snowing outside and my class is full. Any nation who does not invest in education is a looser. Now we have Danish Schools in Pakistan where "Gair Danish" teachers are teaching. Institutions are not known by its buildings; It is the faculty and students which makes an institution. If a teacher becomes corrupt, whole education system can collapse and this is what is happening in Pakistan. Teachers have opened their own private academies to mint money.Unfortunately Pakistani universities have been into factories producing fake research papers and M. Phils and Ph.Ds. I know an example that a junior assistant professor working in a center of excellence in one year had 8 Ph. D and 17 M. Phil students his lab and he produced 26 papers in six month using fake and stolen data;and he was awarded third world academy of sciences " young scientist" award based on totally false and fabricated application. When the matter was brought into the attention of VC and Pakistan Academy of Sciences, the matter was put under the rug.

A sentiment which rings true when Anwar Masood so articulately says, he never thought of his students as "just children" ... "I would speak to them bearing in mind that I am talking to my future." This amazing educator expresses sublimely heartfelt emotions in this captive video. May Pakistan's students be gifted with such saints in the guise of educators who leave a lasting imprint of love and enlightenment in his blessed students. This is a beautifully produced interview, and its many layers of introspection leaves us in awe of Anwar Masood. A unique individual who's not only an educator, he's also a humanist, a mentor, a father figure and a spiritual beacon of light for all teachers and students. This video should be shown throughout Pakistan to all teachers as a way to inspire and guide them on a path by emulating Anwar Masoods' high values and sincere dedication to all those whose lives he touched in such a genuinely meaningful way.

I had excellent and caring teachers up to high school. I appreciated there sincereness and dedication to impart education to us. Even on occasions when I received the punishment I never felt any animosity towards my teacher as I knew he was just doing it in my interest. However as I progressed into the college and university the quality of the teachers deteriorated. Their lectures were confusing and almost all claimed that they prepare their lectures by consulting several books. I always felt that it was unnecessary as a single solid textbook would have worked better. Salute to my school teachers in Pakistan.

Anwar Masood has always been doing superb work to promote education in Pakistan. I love him so much.

The same goes for nurses and new doctors who do a tremendous job in reducing the pain of the needy.

'If you want to learn the art of speaking start listening carefully.' I heard him saying this during a mushaira while crowd was making noise. You can sit and listen him for hours and it is guaranteed that you will not get bored, every sentence he utter will have a thoughtful message in it. Keep up the good work team Alif Ailan. If possible please also interview Javed Ahmad Ghamidi regarding art of teaching someday, he is also a role model for many teachers.

I am a son of a school teacher, who, in the year 1958, helped me become a school teacher at the young age of 15 years. Anwar Masood's narrative took me back to my own time as a young teacher. Though, I marched ahead from a school teacher to a lecturer in English, teaching in a College at Lahore, but the best time of my life, just as Anwar said, was teaching in a high school. Today, living in New York and an author of many books, Anwar Masood you have touched my heart. You have thrown me back in time. I want to fly back to teach so that I may learn, and learn to teach. I went to high school with one of his sons and grew up a few streets away from him. For a brief moment when I used to go to the gym in the morning I would run into him walking and see him practicing his poetry.

I remembered my favorite teacher Late Janab Hai Saheb, the best of the best. He was the same type as Janab Anwar Masood Saheb is explaining about himself. At the age of 64, I feel a great pain when I think that there is no way I can meet my beloved teacher any more, and this happens whenever the thoughts about Janab Hai Saheb bestow upon me. No one can understand the feelings I have right now when I am watching Anwar Masood Saheb. Thanks for sharing this very touchy video. May Allah bless on him, on Janab Hai Saheb and on all the other similar type of teachers - AAMEEN.

I have thoroughly enjoyed Anwar Masood's punjabi poetry. This video was another eye opener.

I like his poetry. But I have to say that his urdu sounds like Punjabi and he thinks in Punjabi and then translate it into Urdu. It will be best if he speaks in Punjabi and write in Punjabi only, the great language of five rivers. I respect him very much. This is true we can not find such dedicated and devoted teachers any more. May he live long to serve his country. God bless you.

Our whole society has been collapsed because we did not take care of our education system. We are spending least amount of money on education among the club of nations. This awareness program like many more are funded by other governments to awake us from deep sleep. Shame on us!!!!!!!!

Such class of teachers are very rare to find now. We should use the services of such fine Gentlemen to take the reins of Education Ministry and devise policies .

Teachers are our greatest asset! From Karachi to Peshawar, in numerous schools located in hamlets, towns, and cities, Pakistan is blessed with great teachers; selfless devoted people who have transformed the lives of so many young people. But in these testing times, many school teachers and university professors are struggling to survive! We ought to pay them back not only in terms of respect and appreciation but also in terms of enhancing their salaries, benefits and retirement income!

One has to re-born everyday with new courage and passion everyday ...every class.... especially in such societies where students don't remember what you try to teach them----------- but what you are......... Having said all this....
