KABUL: The Afghan Taliban have condemned a raid on a school in Peshawar that left 141 dead in the country's bloodiest ever terror attack, saying killing innocent children was against Islam.
Survivors said militants gunned down children as young as 12 during the eight-hour onslaught in Peshawar, which the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) said was revenge for the ongoing North Waziristan operation.
“The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has always condemned the killing of children and innocent people at every juncture,” the Afghan Taliban, which often target civilians, said in a statement released late Tuesday.
“The intentional killing of innocent people, women and children goes against the principles of Islam and every Islamic government and movement must adhere to this fundamental essence."
“The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (the official name of the Taliban) expresses its condolences over the incident and mourns with the families of killed children.”
The Afghan Taliban are a jihadist group loosely affiliated to the Pakistan Taliban, with both pledging allegiance to Mullah Omar.
The Afghan Taliban often distance themselves from attacks that kill many civilians, but they also deliberately target non-combatants.
Last week they claimed responsibility for a suicide attack at a theatre show in the French cultural centre in Kabul that killed one person and injured 15.
The United Nations says the majority of civilian casualties in Afghanistan are caused by the Taliban and other armed groups.

The Taliban is an evil menace which is anti Islam. They have hijacked religion for their criminal and murderous intent.
It should be the duty of every Pakistani to report any citing or illegal activity of these people to the authorities. It is time the police took action. It is not just the job of the army to eradicate this evil.

This condemnation is a sham. You can not be condeming attack and killings in one place while going on kiiling innocents in another. The entire world is united in their empathy with the families of Pakistani children who died, with the nation in mourning. Pakistan today does not need your crocodile tears. They will emerge stronger from this monumental tragedy. If you really mean it - afghan taliban - vow to take revenge and wipe out the Pakistan taliban from the face of this earth. Most of the civilians in Afghanistan are killed by NATO forces. We never heard news about Peshawar like attack in Afghanistan. However, this type of terrorism is seen in DAISH.

Now is the time to educate the people and make them understand that Taliban are NOT muslims as muslims don't kill innocent people. We need to start a country wide scheme to show the true face of the so called taliban and let the people see how they hide behind religion. The army also need to put more effort because there is no need to talk to people who can carry out such evil attacks on children. A normal human being could not even kill animals like this

A week ago Afghan Taliban suicide bomb children in Isteqlal School kabul & a month ago more than hundred kids playing volleyball in Paktia yahyakhel. Even printing of this news only in Pakistani media puts doubts in mind of people. TTP is born out of Afghan Taliban & they have made Durand Line so irrelevant that you cant really differentiate. As we speak a joint attack by Afghan Taliban, Pakistani Taliban & LEJ is going on in Dangal Kunar valley since last 3 days. They have burnt 20 homes of villagers & killed a number of peoples.

If Afghan Taliban condemn activities of Pakistani Taliban why don't they quit their vicious activities in Afghanistan.
We should change our attitude towards Taliban whether they are operating in Afghanistan of Pakistan, in fact, they are the two facets of the same coin. Both, Afghanistan and Pakistan can't have peaceful relations unless they eliminate their strategic assets i:e Taliban. Afghanistan Should recede backing TTP and Pakistan must not extend its support to Haqqani network ( GOOD TALIBAN) any more If they want to true peace in the region.

I am a father and grandfather and I had a sleepless night yesterday.We do not need any condemnation from Afghan Taliban.When I look at the dead bodies of these children it reminds me how a six month old son of Imam Hussain was killed by so called muslims of that time.These talibn are a GALEE to name of Islam.Now when the moratorium on death penalty has been lifted the Govt of Nawaz Shareef should show some spine and all those religious thugs who are on death row should be put before a firing squad preferably in public and on live TV.Their supporters should have the same fate.Now is the time to find out where these animals get money,who are their ideological backers and where they get arms and ammunition.If we fail this time we will never be able to get rid of this cancer ever.May Allah have mercy on Pakisan.

@Ahmer Ansari That's simply not true. Please read any and all available statistics from the UN or any reputable NGO. Every single one confirms that the Taliban and affiliated militants kill and maim more civilians than NATO troops by a roughly 475:1 margin. You may not like NATO (which is fine...you are entitled to your opinion) but the data is overwhelming. Don't blame everyone else. The problem lies with the Taliban as well as those who support, finance and turn a blind eye to their ideology.
