LAHORE: The inaugural Challenge Belt Boxing will be held at the Punjab Group of Colleges Sports Hall, Muslim Town on Saturday.

This is the first-ever event of its kind in which two bouts of six rounds each will be held in light-fly and light-welter weight categories and for the first time both the winner and runner-up boxers of the competitions will be given cash awards.

The event is being held under the auspices of Pakistan Boxing Council, with the permission of Punjab Boxing Assoication.

Two boxers each from Peshawar and Hyderabad will feature in the competitions. M Sameer Khan (49kg) and Rustam Khan (64kg) will represent Peshawar while Adnan Hafeez (49) and Mohammad Imran (64) would be their rivals from Hyderabad.

Every month contests will be held in two weight categories as part of the programme to revive the game of boxing.
