LARKANA: The Larkana Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) on Friday announced the results of the Higher Secon­dary School Certificate part-I (pre-engineering, pre-medical, humanities and commerce groups) annual examinations 2014.

The statistical data released by the BISE said that in the pre-medical group, out of 14,671 candidates who took the exam, 10,881 succeeded in clearing all six papers. The number of failed candidates stood at 725 while the results of 574 candidates were withheld on the charges of using unfair means.

In the pre-engineering group, a total of 9,980 students appear­ed in the exam and 7,015 of them cleared all six subjects. The results of 437 candidates were withheld for alleged cheating and another 588 candidates were declared fail.

In the humanities group, 2,084 out of 3,402 candidates were declared pass in all six subjects and 473 were declared fail. The results of 372 candidates were withheld for alleged use of unfair means.

In the commerce group, only 324 students took the exam and 209 of them cleared all seven subjects. Thirteen candidates were declared fail and the results of another 15 were withheld for alleged cheating.
