It was a good year for Pakistan's art industry: Nabeel Qureshi's Na Maloom Afraad became a box-office hit; Pakistani dramas and actors made waves in India through television and film; and Bilal Tanweer won the Shakti Bhatt First Book Prize for The Scatter Here is too Great, amongst many other feats.

The commercial success of artistic ventures revives the age-old question about the relationship between art and audience, which leads to the all-important question:
