QUETTA: A suspected member of the banned Tehreek Taliban Pakistan (TTP) involved in the attack on a Levies Thana in Loralai district was killed in an exchange of fire with security forces on Thursday.

Official sources said that a group of armed men attacked the Levies Thana in Murgha Kibzai area of Loralai district and ransacked it before setting it on fire.

The attackers were fleeing when Frontier Corps troops reached there and opened fire on them.

In the heavy exchange of fire, one attacker died. “The man killed belongs to TTP,” an FC spokesman said.

After the incident, he said, a search operation was carried out in Saman area of Kahan in Kohlu district and huge quantity of arms and ammunition was seized.

The arms seized included anti-tank and anti-personnel mines and IEDs. However, no arrest was reported.
