LAHORE: Lahore police got on Saturday 16 long machine guns to fight terrorists.

The guns were purchased on the recommendation of Capital City Police officer (CCPO) Amin Wains and Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations Dr Haider Ashraf, says a press release.

Dr Haider Ashraf said that police personnel were in need of latest weapons to fight militants.

SP Umer Saeed said the long machine gun can hit the target from two and half kilo meter distance. He said a special squad had been raised to operate these guns.
