The year has only just begun, but today's nuptials are clearly going to be dubbed the wedding of the year.

All eyes were on Bani Gala when Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan and television journalist Reham Khan's nikkah ceremony was performed at the former cricketer's gorgeous residence in Islamabad today. Twitter users swooned over Reham's elegant bridal outfit, calling it stunning and classy.

The beaming bride stunned in an off-white embellished Karma Red ensemble with crimson detailing.

Karma is a renowned local fashion label, which was launched in 2001 and quickly rose to prominence. Many celebrities and socialites are seen regularly donning Karma outfits.

Talking to Dawn.com, Maheen Kardar Ali of Karma shares: "Reham specifically requested for the Maharani bridal from Karma Red and wanted the bridal to be very elegant and graceful."

She adds, "I think she did it complete justice and it looked exquisite on her!"

Reham was quick to share the joy of the new phase in her life with her colleagues at DawnNews in Islamabad, where she promptly sent mithai as a celebratory gesture.

While Reham stayed on trend and opted for a celebrated Lahore designer for her big day, Imran Khan's sherwani was reportedly stitched by his local tailor. "Imran's sherwani was not made by a designer, it was stitched by his regular tailor," said party member and friend Imran Ismail.

However, Twitter is afloat with reports that menswear designer Munib Nawaz designed the golden sherwani picked by Imran Khan on his wedding day. When contacted, the designer said he is not behind the politician's outfit.
