KARACHI: Unexplained disappearances of child corpses from a local graveyard in Karachi created panic on Saturday.
Residents of a neighbourhood in Manghopir were shocked to learn that five corpses have gone missing from the Afridi Goth graveyard, with two cases having taken place in the last 15 days.
According to residents, police suspect that an animal is stealing the corpses of children. While five corpses have gone missing in the last few months, some graves were dug up and left open.
“The graves were unpaved,” said Station House Officer (SHO) Manghopir Ghulam Hussain Korai. “An animal dug its way to the bottom and consumed the child corpses; they did not 'disappear'. Flesh and bones were also found.”
Police officials have been deployed at the graveyard to monitor the situation.
Residents say this is the first time in the 30 years since the graveyard was built that such an incident has taken place and demanded that authorities act quickly to put an end to the disappearances.

Is the police really that naive. How can an animal differentiate between a child's grave and an adult's grave? If it was an animal it wouldn't only be children's graves.

something fishy. corpses have started missing for the first time in 30 years. Local administration should find who has been doing this kind of heinous act. Local residents have the main part of the role to play by sensitizing/pressurizing the authorities to come up with a plan to uncover this mystery.

Good lord, I thought they had no respect or value for lives, this shows that the obsession is not just to kill but also use a corpse to make a living. The guy who cremated the little kids' bodies was more generous! Is there any hope left?

Police should have stated that it was an Extra Terrestrial's job who can differentiate between a Child & Adult's grave, this Statement is similar to one when they claim that a person fired first at Police and was killed in self defense ! Now, coming back to the topic this looks like work of some persons in connivance with Police & Graveyard Staff.

This is no an animal work; the photo shows use of instruments eroding the edges of wood an concrete. Someone stealing the bodies either some psychotic or some conspiracy; Cameras be installed at Graveyard sites.

There was a similar news, somewhere in Punjab I think, of two brothers involved in such and such, so heinous can't even talk about it.

@shezad .... once the necrosis occurs the tissues can not be rejuvenated... there is some thing else behind... indeed who so ever is doing this must be an animal... the irony is even the dead are not safe in our country... this is the height of something...
