KP table tennis trials begin

PESHAWAR: Two-day trials to select Khyber Pakhtunkhwa table tennis squad for the forthcoming National Ranking Table Tennis Championships began here at the Qayyum Sports Complex on Saturday.

According to Pakistan Table Tennis Federation (PTTF) secretary Kifayatullah Orakzai, 16 players turned up for the trials. Out of these 16 players a final six-member team will be formed.

These six players will represent Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at the National Ranking Table Tennis Championships being staged from Jan 23 to 28 in Bahawalpur.

After the men’s trials, the KP official added, trials for women would be held next week. He said a total of 12 players and two officials would go to Bahawalpur to represent the province.
