DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Provincial Minister for Revenue Ali Amin Gandapur said on Friday that measures were being taken to provide recreational facilities to people in DI Khan district.

Visiting the wildlife park being constructed near Saddar police station, he said that people of the district were nature-loving and would travel to big cities on recreational trip to explore beauty of the nature.

Now, he said, the residents would have many recreational spots within their own district as work had been expedited on the park to open it for public in March.

The minister said that the facility would provide greater opportunity to the citizens to enjoy the nature’s beauty and get knowledge about animal species.

DFO Mamlook Khan briefed Mr Gandapur about the pace of work and facilities being provided to the visitors. He said that the park would house indigenous wildlife, captive breeding of wild animals and birds and provide recreational facilities to the people of the district and adjoining areas.

The minister announced that he would provide funds for installation of solar lights in the park in addition to hiring more staff to properly look after the facility and ensure better management. Besides, three kanals would be acquired to make the park spacious and accommodate more facilities, especially for children.

He asked the quarters concerned to provide best recreational facilities in the park, adding that special swings should be arranged for children. He said that the construction work under the phase-I would be completed soon, while the phase-II would be launched after getting approval from the provincial government. In the next phase, more animals and birds would be brought to the park.
