RAWALPINDI: With work on metro bus project in its final stage, the City Traffic Police have banned parking of all kinds of vehicles on Murree Road.

Police have also warned shopkeepers against placing goods on footpaths and roads.

Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Rawalpindi Shoaib Khurram Janbaz, in a statement, urged citizens to use Airport Road and Peshawar Road to avoid gridlock.

He said efforts were being made to regulate traffic on Murree Road but without the cooperation of the citizens, traffic flow could not be managed.

The CTO said besides increasing the number of traffic wardens, officials performing duties in other areas, have also been deployed on Murree Road.

He advised the motorists to avoid Murree Road and instead use Airport Road, Peshawar Road and Golra Mor to reach Islamabad.

Citizens can also come to the city areas through Rawal Road, Saidpur Road and IJP Road, he added.
