QUETTA: Dismayed at non-completion of pension documents of a petitioner over the past 12 years, a division bench of the Balochistan High Court ordered the director of health department on Wednesday to complete the process within two days.
The bench comprising Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhel and Justice Mohammad Ejaz Swati said the provincial accountant general would be asked to stop the salary of the health services director till finalisation of the procedure if the pension documents of Bibi Ghulam Zohra, a retired employee of the Bolan Medical Complex, were not completed in the stipulated period.
The petitioner’s counsel submitted that Bibi Zohra had retired as an employee of the BMC and Sandeman Hospital in 2003 but preparation of her pension documents was still ‘in process’.
An assistant advocate general and law officer of the health department said the petitioner had been appointed in the civil hospital and then transferred to the BMC and after her retirement the pension documents had been forwarded to the health director.
The court said it was shocked to know that officers of the civil hospital and BMC were so irresponsible that they did not care about the rights of employees serving with them. It said the health department had violated the rights of the petitioner.
