Kulsum Saifullah passes away

ISLAMABAD: Prominent political figure and social worker Begum Kulsum Saifullah Khan passed away here on Monday after protracted illness.

She was 91.

Born in Karak district, she was married to a known businessman of that time Khan Saifullah Khan.

She is survived by five sons, Salim Saifullah, Humayun Saifullah, Anwar Saifullah, Javid Saifullah and Dr Iqbal Saifullah Khan.

Her funeral prayer will be held at Kernal Sher Khan Stadium in Peshawar on Tuesday (today).

Begum Kulsum had been an active political and social personality for many years. She also served as minister for population welfare and organisation and methods (management services division) and as minister of state for commerce.

President Pervez Musharaf conferred the prestigious Hilal-i-imtiaz civilian award on her in recognition to her services.
