ISLAMABAD: A meeting between Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar, former governor of Punjab, and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan on Sunday evening literally warmed up the otherwise chilly Islamabad.
The PTI’s media cell said in a statement that the two leaders had one-to-one meeting at Mr Khan’s Bani Gala residence. They discussed the political situation in the country “in a friendly atmosphere. In the meeting, Mr Khan formally invited the former governor to join the PTI”, it added.
In a recent TV interview, the PTI chairman had said that he would love to have Chaudhry Sarwar in his party to benefit from his experience as a British lawmaker.
“His experience can be of huge benefit to the PTI as I want to build my party as an institution unlike the hereditary PML-N and PPP,” Mr Khan said.
