Veteran Pakistani actor Javed Sheikh has confirmed that he will be playing a role in Imtiaz Ali's upcoming movie, Tamasha.

The Na Maloom Afraad star shared: "Tamasha stars Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone in lead roles and I'm going to play Ranbir's father."

"I've completed my first segment in Shimla. The rest of the cast is currently shooting in Delhi and I will be returning to Shimla again next month to complete shooting my scenes," he added.

The movie's plot has been kept under wraps but rumour has it that it revolves around a nomad, played by Kapoor, who crosses paths with Deepika and the two end up becoming troupe artists.

No release date has been announced yet. However, Javed Sheikh confirmed it is slated for an early 2016 release.

The romantic drama is being directed by Imtiaz Ali, who's the man behind many blockbusters such as Highway, Rockstar and Jab We Met. Music maestro A.R. Rahman is handling Tamasha's music and Sajid Nadiadwala (Housefull, 2 States, Kick) is the producer.
