Gen Raheel Sharif's mother passes away

ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif's mother, Mrs Muhammad Sharif, passed away in Rawalpindi on Saturday.
She died of cardiac arrest at the Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology (AFIC).

Her funeral prayers were offered in Chaklala Garrison today.

President Mamnoon Hussain, federal ministers, parliamentarians, services chiefs, corps commanders, relatives and close friends of General Raheel attended the funeral prayers.
She will be laid to rest in Lahore's Cavalry ground after Asr prayers.
President Mamnoon, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif had shared their condolences with the grieving family.
General Raheel is the youngest sibling among three brothers and two sisters. His brother Major Shabbir Sharif, who lost his life during the 1971 war on Dec 6 at Sulemanki Sector, is one of the most decorated soldiers of the Pakistan Army. He is the recipient of Sword of Honour, Sitar-i-Jurrat and Nishan-i-Haider, the three most coveted awards of the army.
General Raheel's other brother Mumtaz Sharif also served in the army, but took an early retirement due to medical reasons.

Under which of he Pakistan law parents of armed forces are entitled for military health services. I remember watching Mr. Sharif ( general's father ) in News Eye interview and he was a ordinary civilian government employee and could not qualify for military hospital. My father was a non- uniformed defense department ( navy ) employee and my mother could not qualify for naval hospital in Karachi. Can some one quote the law which is in writing.

1 son serving army chief, 1 with nishan e haider and if i am not wrong, Maj Aziz bhatti was brother with nishan e haider. Proud mother and woman of a most decorated army family in history of pakistan.

My friend Gen Raheel's father retired as a Major from Pakistan Army.
Apart from this, if you contact ISPR they will be able to send you a copy of the written law by which parents of military personnel are entitled to healthcare services at military hospitals.
