Hafeez terms Indian media reports a 'conspiracy against Pakistan team'

KARACHI: Pakistan’s star all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez has denied Indian media reports which quote him as saying that the team’s chief selector Moin Khan and coach Waqar Younis are sidelining captain Misbah-ul-Haq.
When asked to comment on the Press Trust of India report, a clueless Hafeez told Dawn: “I have not said anything like this.This is propaganda aimed at maligning the Pakistan team.”
“Pakistani team, players and management are united, there is not any sort of rift or politics in the dressing room,” the all-rounder said. He said that winning and losing was all part of the game but that the conspiracy theories must stop.
Hafeez said his interviews to TV channels were taken out of context. “The Press Trust of India must prove what they have attributed to me,” Hafeez said. “I will bring this to the knowledge of the Pakistan Cricket Board because this is a serious allegation,” he added.
A report published on leading Indian websites said that “former Pakistan captain and experienced all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez triggered off a debate over whether the national team was facing internal problems and issues in the ongoing ICC cricket World Cup 2015”.
The report went on to say: “Hafeez since being sent back home from Australia by the national team management due to an injury has interacted with the media on several occasions and every time he has had something to say, which suggests that chief selector Moin Khan and head coach Waqar Younis are calling the shots in the Pakistan team and not captain Misbah-ul-Haq.”
Pakistan’s former Test cricketer Jalaluddin was quoted by the Press Trust of India as saying: “I don’t know what is Hafeez’s agenda but the Pakistan Cricket Board needs to speak to him and find out whether there are any problems within the team and Misbah is being sidelined.”
The report took another former paceman Tanvir Ahmed on record where it claimed that he added credence to speculations that Hafeez was sent home and not allowed to stay with the team to recover from his injury after he had a run in with Waqar over training schedules.
“Hafeez had questioned Waqar’s training methods for the players and felt he was exhausting them before actual matches after which both of them had an argument in Sydney,” it said.

LOL All crap i agree with Hafeez these are defamatory remarks and if i was Hafeez i would be considering suing that Media group for untrue remarks.
However, Problem is that the board riddled with self interest and silver lining their own pockets and probably wont do anything in terms of support and use it as an opportunity to sideline Hafeez now. PCB pressed the red self destruct button a long time ago and it started at the end reign of the great Khan. I would advise that Pakistani Players stop speaking to Indian Press only way to be sure things dont get taken out of context. In fact the board has made it clear not to speak to any Media so no idea why they do and then they cry after....eg Ajmal is a prime example.

These senior players should understand that they need to remain silent during an important event like World Cup. If he had not spoken to any Indian outlet then there is no question of misreporting. I don t know as a nation when we are going to learn that our adversaries will do what ever they can to harm our interests and we need to be responsible for our actions. Losing to India is not a big deal as at this moment in time they have a better combination of players but this will change in future if we concentrate on ourselves and our domestic cricket structure rather than blaming others.

Forget about any conspiracy or propaganda by other. Just practice, practice and more practice to improve your perforformaced. Winning & losing is a game. If you lose, its not end of the world, as long as players did their best. No body is crying on losing cricket game. Pakistanis have bigger sishes to fry. Some very serious problems faced by the nation that police and many politicians have failed to protect pakistani people. Lets hope military courts will punish many criminals, and put behind bars, may be hang some criminals, so people can live in peace, and watch more cricket games too.

I can remember an Arsenal match in London where a rival fan threw a heavy dart straight through the bridge of an opposing fan's nose. It was in the papers. The photo of a bobby escorting the wounded man out of the stadium.
Ever seen Rangers and Celtic play in Glasgow? Football hooligans from the UK were banned all across Europe and games between certain teams cancelled.
As a player you can't worry what the media has to say. It is just not relevant.

Hafeez you were telling the truth but you are no longer!. We have supported you. However it is fact what has been said.
I personally don't have a problem with Waqar and Moin calling the shots and they need to discipline the matters and both of them a lot of experience. However they should also own it when things go wrong and take responsibility.
I would never expected a Waqar team to self destruct as it did against India. As another person commented it was bad decisions, poor execution and uninspiring leadership by Misbah and captain in the waiting Afridi.

I am sure India has better things to do than creating problems for Pakistan. The Indian media needs to be reined in by the BCCI and the ICC for trying to infiltrate the minds of the players, coaches and management with a vicious motive that has always been their hallmark, be it politics, social norms and culture or sports. The Indian media, purporting to adhere to ethics and fairplay, has always tried to ridicule their next door neighbor with the motive to degrade the nation and the citizens in the eyes of the world. Now, its just not making any sense to attribute this to Hafeez, who would not indulge in such irresponsible behavior since he is already assured of the future captaincy, and is only waiting for the right time.

Solution is the have Pak players in IPL, if English, SA, Aussie, NZ players can enjoy the money why cannot Pak players who have a bigger right in sharing the money than anyone else outside SL and Bangla players. Why are they penalized for nonsensical politics and posturing by the politicians and military folks?, the common Indian does not care

They were not giving interviews to foreign press and then whining when the interview was published. They were not sowing indiscipline against coaches o the point that coach submitted resignation.
