Zhob law and order

Published February 20, 2015

ANOTHER kidnapping case and yet another inadequate attempt by security forces to get the kidnapped released, which resulted in the death of four government officials on the morning of Feb 16.

Two of those killed belonged to the levies force and two to the health department. All four were on government duty for polio campaign in the region.

The four officials were kidnapped by the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan in a mountainous region called Tawoda Ghar between Zhob and Qilla Saifullah on Feb 12.

However, there are some questions which are perturbing the people of Zhob. First, why aren’t the authorities able to control law and order?

Second, why did the District Health Officer and the District Coordination Officer send the officials three days earlier (on Feb 12) even though the polio eradication campaign was supposed to start on Feb 15?

Third, why is the army not launching an operation against terrorists in the mountainous areas instead of just performing their duty in the valley?
