KARACHI: Jail authorities asked an anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Saturday to issue black warrants for two condemned prisoners.
Mohammad Faisal and Mohammad Afzal were sentenced to death by an ATC in 1999 for killing a man during a robbery in Korangi in 1998.
In an application, the jail authorities informed the ATC-IV that appeals of the two had been dismissed by the higher and superior courts and their mercy petitions had also been turned down by the president of Pakistan a couple days ago.
They urged the court to issue black warrants for execution of the convicts. The court is likely to issue death warrants on Monday.

Murders in robbery are easy to deal with in comparison to murders by by religious extremists e.g. SS, LJ, TTP. But, to handle those may be too dangerous for Pakistan political elits.

If he was to be finally hanged, why did the system put him through incarceration for over 15 years? He should have been hanged then sparing his family the gruel and torture they suffered for 15 years. Horrible system.

I don't see anyone asking for black warrant of Saulat Mirza, he is on death row, all appeals denied.

@Fareed - If Saulat Mirza is spared , then it is politics as usual. Couple of months ago black warrant for his execution was issued then withdrawn without any explanation.
