KARACHI: It is the endeavour of Sindh Rangers to eradicate crime and anti-social activities from the city including Lyari in order to revive the old city of lights by promoting healthy activities.

This was stated by Wing Cdr of 93 Wing Colonel Sohail while unfolding details of all-Sindh boxing championship being held under the aegis of Pakistan Rangers Sindh with the collaboration of Sindh Boxing Association (SBA) at Peoples Sports Complex on Sunday. The three-day event begins on Monday.

The competition is a step in similar direction to bring harmony among all sects after successfully staging of cycling, football and boxing events in the past.

He also shed light on the development work that has been carried out in the vicinity of Lyari on the instructions of Sindh Rangers which among other include carpeting of roads, installation of street lights, solving water and sewerage problems.

The Sindh Rangers official commended the private institutions that have come forward and supported the cause for the betterment of city.

He disclosed that besides handsome awards for medallists, former celebrated boxers will be honoured at the presentation on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, all outstation and local teams have assembled in the city. Kits were distributed among the participants and the draws were taken out in presence of team managers at the venue on Sunday.

DG Rangers Sindh Maj Gen Bilal Akbar will inaugurate the event at 2.30pm on Monday.

The press conference was also attended among others by SBA secretary Asghar Baloch, vice-president Abid Brohi, administrator ZMC South Mohammad Raisi and Noor Mohammad Qambrani.
