It will be a disaster if Misbah played with Irfan against Zimbabwe. Though we must have to win. But playing with Irfan against a relatively week team is not wise decision. Hope Misbah will give a chance to Rahat Ali , Srafraz and Yasir shah to give them some match practice before match against SA. Plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Leave Nasir Jamshed and Younis out...

@Mujji ... Agreed current performance is not great. But given the fact that we still left 4 matches that includes 3 matches against Zimbabwe, UAE & Ireland. Although we lost against Ireland in 2007. But we won last 3 matches against them. In 2007 , team performance was pathetic same like India. We have to win by big margin but shouldn't take any chance against SA where we must have to play with best 11.

I guess instead of saying PCB should have done this and that, shouldn't have done this and that, its time we hope for the best from the "existing team" - as we do not have any choice either.
I am sure just one win and Pakistan would gain enough confidence to win against Ireland and UAE and may as well give competition to South Africa. Ours is not a bad team but what we lack is planning and commitment.

Its NOT a weak team. We lost to India many times in WC and those Pak teams were not weak either. Losing to India is what we do (always) "under pressure". And against West Indies Misbah did the most stupid thing, winning toss and inviting trouble (asking West Indies to bat), as we are such poor side chasing.
So in my opinion, if we plan right and enter the ground with commitment, we will look a very different team. I wonder what job our dozen coaches are doing.

Umar Akmal whose place is secured whether he performs or not should open with Shahzad.
Sarfaraz should keep wicket and can be an asset at 7.
No point having extra batsman when we have over the hill players like Yunus and Nasir Jamshed still in the squad.

Some sense has now prevailed over Moin Khans affair as he will meet PCB chief on Monday.
By Monday either Pakistan will see some light after match against Zimbawe on Sunday or would have confirmed
their return booking before quarters.
Let us give our best try on Sunday by bringing in Yasir Shah and Safraraz.
Ahmad Shahzad can open with Umer Akmal and Sarfaraz to keep wicket and bat at 7.
Sincerely hope that Yunus himself withdraws from the team. He may get 15 of 42 balls and will
continue to be a liability.
Good luck Pakistan

See what PCB and people need to know is, its not the opposition that has a strong bowling attack, its our batting that lacks technique. If our batsmen are trying to slog to get the scoreboard ticking you are going to be creating ample opportunities for the fielders. If the PAK team needs to know how to get the scoreboard ticking after having faced a few tough overs, they should watch South Africa's innings against West Indies from last night.

It's not about players, officials, technique or performing in pressure cooker situations.
Present cricket scenario is just a reflection of prevailing state of affairs across Pakistan's institutions. Murder of merit, corruption, discrimination and inept people at helm have devastated (& bleeding) the country. Remember what happened to squash & hockey. Cricket is in coma. No rocket science - Appoint PCB personal on merit (sincere & professionals) with vision and results will come (in next world cup - 2019). Egyptian mummies should not have been in the team. Good luck, Green Shirts - You can do it. Winning/Losing is part of game - play hard, give your best.

@Imran do you think west Indies has sent their strongest team? who would have thought leaving players like Bravo and Pollard and West Indies will still win. Even India team is not as strong as what they had in 2011 WC. My point is that whether you win or lose, at least put your effort in the game and the Pakistan team has not done that so far. Recall the match between Ireland and West Indies. Thought Ireland won, but West Indies given the horrid start they still managed to score over 300 due to hard work by the lower order. Pakistan has not even passed 250. This will bite them in case they are tied in terms of points.

Main reason for Pak decline in cricket is not bcos of Moin or anyone. It is bcos of SL attack happened in Pak. This removed all the International matches from Pak and they lacked good amount of match practice. So instead of removing players/officials, understand the real problem and try to improve domestic security by completely eradicating terrorists (not like only bad terrorists only, terrorism is bad irrespective of any reason). If it continues, there wont be any future of Pak cricket too.

Interestingly, no one understand the actual problem (the terrorist attack on SL Team, in turn, all International matches cancelled in Pak). Still Pak could not convince ICC or any board to travel in Pak due to their security concerns. Unless they remove this critical issue, they may continue to perform like this. Terrorism is bad for any country either good (Kashmir) or bad (its own) terrorism. Unless they understand this problem, the Pak cricket wont improve by simply changing their players/staff.

When the team wins, it is always the team that gets the accolades. But when it looses, it is always the selectors and the coach that is blamed. This is just a game of sports and the best team on the day is the winner. We must learn to accept defeat. From the defeat we must learn where we went wrong and redeem ourselves by improving our game plan. This applies not only to cricket! Please give these sportsmen a chance and stop the blame game.

@shaffiq 147?? You are showing too much respect to Pakistan's batsmen.

I want to see India and Pakistan play final. It might be possible if Pakistan gives a good try and India can easily win The world cup in final.

We should tell our batsman that during net practice work on their weakness, but once they are batting try to keep eye on ball as much as they can and technique automatically will follow.
What I have realized tha our player are preoccupied with technique intentionally which is affecting their game and please no premedited shots.
I have talk to so many qualified co ches in thggolf and same rule applied in cricket.

Having read most of the comments in wake of Pak team's unexpectedly low performance, there seems to be wholly lot confusion.
There is utmost need to keep patience and allow the team to play its own game, as they have pretty good and bad experience of the
game.By now they must have planned how to face Zimwabbe and and win over it, as they are not so strong to give a defeat to PAK.
One more thing ,it is felt need, that public at large sitting thousands mile far away must not make unnecessary'hulchal' on every ball/
stroke played, since the world is anxiously watching the behaviour and tense emotions, not good for country's image. Have faith and
good wishes for your team and never try to break TVsets etc. Indian well wisher.
