HYDERABAD: Sindh Minister for Information and Local Government Sharjeel Inam Memon said the leadership of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has given a mandate to Senator-elect Abdul Rehman Malik to hold dialogues with Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), convincing them to join Sindh government.
After success of negotiations, it would be possible to say whether MQM will join the provincial government or not, the minister said while talking to media persons after inauguration of Sarsabz Sindh Campaign at Zoological Garden (Rani Baagh) late Saturday evening.
He said that negotiations with MQM leadership are ongoing. “The people will soon witness the expected successful results of such dialogues.”
Replying to another question about the law and order situation, the minister said that with the appointment of the present superintendent of police, fruitful results have started to appear in this respect in Hyderabad district. He also appreciated the performance of DIG Hyderabad, however, he said that more efforts are required to further improve the law and order situation in the city.
Responding to another question, he said that a comprehensive plan has been prepared to cleanse the Local Government Department of ghost employees.
He said that the main objective of launching a week long campaign was to ensure cleanliness with greenery and provide all basic facilities to the people of the province.
“The week long campaign has been extended and the same will continue throughout the year,” he said and added that millions of saplings will be planted with cleanliness in all over the province during the campaign.
He informed that plantation of 50 thousand saplings has been planned in Hyderabad district during the current month, of which 11 thousand saplings have so far been planted in various parts of the district.
After Karachi, Memon informed that the district administration is making sincere efforts to make the campaign successful in Hyderabad district. The performance in Tharparkar district of Mirpurkhas Division is commendable, he added.
The minister directed the employees of Local Government Department to work with dedication and devotion and make the campaign successful.
