MURREE: The recent spell of heavy rains and snowfall have caused extensive damages to various roads and houses in Murree and its adjoining areas.

Rain and snowfall beginning from March 1 continued with regular intervals till 9th of this month.

One side of the Murree Expressway near Awaen has been blocked by landsliding for the last two days.

Another landsliding has damaged the retaining wall of the Expressway near Batnarra.

Rain has damaged a number of link roads to various villages of the hill station and commuters are facing problems in movement.

Lower Topa to Saen road has developed potholes near Ratta Arra, Kaseri to Ghoe.

Though heavy snowfall attracted a large number of tourists from various parts of the country, it caused problems in rural areas of Murree.

The electricity outages of long duration added to the miseries of the people of far-flung areas.
