QUETTA, Sept 23: Defending champion Pakistan Railways, Karcahi Whites and Quetta Whites won their matches in the 20th National women’s hockey championship on Tuesday.

Pakistan Railways fielding several national players crushed Faisalabad 7-1 in a one-sided affair.

The winners took the lead in the 4th minute of the first half when left out Sabah scored first goal and three minutes later centre forward Sana Javed made it 2-0.

Saima Afzal scored third goal for the winners but Faisalabd reduced the margin when fullback Aqila Naseem converted a penalty corner in the 29th minute.

Soon after the second half Sana got her second with an individual field gold.

Right-in Azra Nasir struck twice in 55th and 66th minutes and Samia completed the rout with her second goal with two minutes left for the final whistle.

Inside-left Ghazala converted two penalty corners in the 24th and 32nd minuted to help Karachi Whites’s score 2-0 victory over Rawalpindi in the second match of the day.

In the third match of the day Quetta Whites edged out Lahore Whites 2-1 after leading 2-0 at the half time.

Lahore’s consolation goal from right-in Zarawara made a field goal in the 38 minute.

Right-in Sughara opened the account of Quetta in the 11th minute of the first half while second goal was netted by centre forward Nargis in the 26th minute.
