LAHORE: Indian actress Nandita Das is arriving in the city on March 16 for the screening of a CinePlay at the Olo Junction in New Muslim Town the next day – March 17.

Kanwal Khoosat from Olo Junction told Dawn Nandita was coming on a personal visit.

The screening has been organised by OlomoPolo Media, a media and arts management and entertainment organisation that aims at bringing back quality entertainment in all possible forms to society.

A project of Nandita and husband Subodh Maskara, a CinePlay will be screened in Pakistan for the first time. Quoting Nandita from the event’s Facebook page: “CinePlay is a cinematic experience inspired by a theatrical production. Filmmaking process is used to convey meaningful stories in collaboration with a theatre director’s vision; a new language of storytelling.”

The screening of the CinePlay, 'Between the Lines' will be followed a tête-à-tête with Nandita, a musical performance by OlomoPolo’s in-house band Mosiqa. The talk will be moderated by actress par excellence Sania Saeed.

Nandita and Divya Jagdale’s 'Between the Lines' is a contemporary play set in urban India where well-educated, affluent couples find themselves caught between modernity and tradition. It is a story of a couple – both lawyers -- who end up arguing on the opposite sides of a criminal trial, blurring their personal and professional lives.

The screening will be held on March 17 at OLO Junction. Tickets will be available until Macrh 14.

Nandita is popular for her power-packed performances in path-breaking films like Fire, Earth and Bawandar. Her directorial debut Firaaqhas also won a number of national and international awards.
