KARACHI: A suicide blast targeting a Rangers mobile near Qalandria Chowk in North Nazimabad killed two paramilitary officials and injured another on Friday evening, while they were on regular patrolling duty.

According to initial reports by DawnNews, three Rangers personnel were injured in the blast. But two officials succumbed to their injuries on the way to the hospital. The deceased officials have been identified as Qasim and Yaar Mohammad.

SP Gulberg confirmed that a suicide bomber targeted the Rangers mobile. He added that authorities had cordoned off the area and were investigating the site for possible evidences.

However, bomb disposal squad is yet to confirm the nature of blast.

Two civilians, identified as Akram and Syeda, were also injured in the explosion.

The explosion was so loud it was heard in far-reaching areas of North Nazimabad and F B Area, reported DawnNews. Following the attack a panic spread in the area as people rushed for safety.
