Qatari Emir arrives today on two-day visit

ISLAMABAD: Emir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani will arrive here on Monday on a two-day official visit to Pakistan on the invitation of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
The Qatari leader will be accompanied by a high-level delegation, including cabinet ministers, the chairman of Qatar Airways and senior government officials.

During the visit, the Emir will meet President Mamnoon Hussain and the prime minister. The two sides will discuss ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in various fields, including energy, investment, trade and defence.

Qatar Airways chief among the delegates is a good sign for Pakistani aviation industry. I'm predicting he will either pitch heavy investment in PIA and thereby manage it, and/or operate a domestic airline in Pakistan akin to the much delayed Qatar Airways' subsidiary, Al Maha Airways cleared to launch operations in Saudi Arabia. Either decision should be welcomed by PIA and Government of Pakistan regardless of pressure from unions. Let it be good news!

Pakistanis should be given jobs in Qatar and ban on Pakistanis to get work visa should be lifted.

@Muhammad There is no ban on Pakistanis in Qatar , its Kuwait not Qatar. Many Pakistanis are still coming here.

Pakistan should make attempts to invite heads of states of non-Muslim countries also. These kings and princes have no locus standi. If the Prisident of France, Italy, Spain or Portugal came, it would be great.

Lets hope something positive comes out of this visit. There have been many 'high level' visits by others, with 'low level' results. On a second thought, even if there are no solid steps benefitting Pakistan, all will still enjoy some political speeches with 'future' plans, will do this, will do that, will consider that... and so on. How it will benefit general public after all the dinners are over? Better not to ask such questions.
