Like every fashion week, the fraternity's movers and shakers flocked to attend Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) in Mumbai, India.

Although the five-day event must have been a hectic week of model tantrums, fights over front row seats and fashion bloggers posing in every corner, the clothes were still the focal point.

Some celebrities/designers were on point with their ensembles, whereas others missed the mark.

Here's our fashion roundup of hits and misses on the red carpet:

HOT: Rani Mukherjee

Mukherjee, who has been dubbed Sabyasachi's muse, not so surprisingly donned a black, charcoal and gold sari by the designer. The actress took an unusual route and paired it with chunky cat eye specs, which made her look youthful and spunky. With minimal makeup and a voluminous blow out, the entire look was elegant with hints of dork chic.

Koechlin wore a maxi from Sabyasachi's collection, which did her enviable physique no favours. Wearing a turban made out of the same material as the dress, the Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani actress went made her outfit too matchy matchy and was an eyesore.

HOT: Sridevi

The forever young Sridevi looked stunning, also in a blue Sabyasachi sari, coupled with diamond earrings. With a simple pale pink pout and rosy cheeks, the veteran actress kept her penchant for over-indulgence in check and exuded sophistication.

HOT: Deepika Padukone

While many chose to wear Eastern traditional clothing, Deepika opted for for black Michael Kors jumpsuit with Jimmy Choo stilettos. With winged liner and swept back hair, the Happy New Year leading lady looked classy, as always. However, as great as she looks, we wish she had stepped out of her comfort zone and worn something more daring!

NOT: Jacqueline Fernandez

The beauty, who recently modeled for Zainab Chottani lawn, was spotted on the red carpet wearing a Manish Malhotra ensemble from his 'Blue Runway' collection. Although the crop top was a flattering choice to show off her toned midriff, the outfit as a whole was a bore and lacked punch. Had she sported a red pout or some quirky accessories, she would have ended up on the other list!

HOT: Farhan Akhtar

The multi-talented star did his own 50 Shades of Grey take on the denim on denim trend. Wearing a light grey sweater with a pale blue shirt peeking out on dark grey pants, the singer/actor/director proved that being fashion forward is yet another feather in his cap.

NOT: Kajol

Kajol's known for rocking saris like nobody's business but her get-up at Lakme this year fell kind of flat. The sari looked outdated with an odd combination of colours and in-your-face floral threadwork, whereas more intricate embroidery is trending these days. A plain blouse would have looked better. Just goes to show: even Manish Malhotra and Kajol can make mistakes!

HOT: Kiran Rao

Although a little casual, Amir Khan's wife, Kiran Rao donned pulled off her grungy look well. The director wore a Givenchy Rottweiler sweatshirt with tights, boots and a Saint Laurent studded bag. Her short curly hair was swept to the side and she wore yellow earrings to add a pop of colour to her otherwise grey and black ensemble.

NOT: Shabana Azmi

The ethereal Shabana Azmi chose to wear Payal Khandwala tunic with printed ill-fitting palazzos. Not only are the palazzos kind of an eyesore — they also make her look short. Maybe, just maybe, wearing different shoes could have been her saving grace. These dull slip-ons looked like bathroom slippers.

HOT: Neha Dhupia

This silhouette is not for the faint-hearted! Most stars played it safe this fashion week but not Neha Dhupia in a Dhruv Kapur dress. She kept her hair out of the way and accessorized the voluminous dress well with a chunky neckpiece by Amrapali and a plain black clutch.
