KARAK: Representatives of a US-based company visited various areas of Banda Daud Shah tehsil here to select a suitable site for construction of an oil refinery.
The delegation comprised technical staff of the company. They visited Krappa, Makori and Mansoor Garh to select the site for the oil refinery.
Assistant commissioner, Banda Daud Shah, Mohammad Nawaz accompanied the delegation. The delegation has already visited some sites in Kohat for the same purpose.

President of Khattak Ittehad Maulana Mirzaqeem and other office-bearers also held a meeting with the visiting team to discuss the project. They assured the team members that the people of Karak would extend support in establishing the refinery in the district.
TWO LABORERS HURT: Two labourers sustained critical injuries when they were hit by a landslide while working in a salt mine in Nari Panos area.
Eyewitnesses said that the labourers identified as Ajab Khan and Zari Marjan were busy working inside the salt mine when the landslide hit them.
Other colleagues present on the occasion retrieved the injured from the rubble and shifted them to hospital. However, doctors referred them to a Peshawar hospital in precarious condition.
WATER SUPPLY: The people of Dabb area of Karak tehsil have demanded supply of drinking water to their village from the Zarakhel water reservoir.
Local elders told a press conference on Sunday that the Dabb village had been facing acute shortage of drinking water. They said the feasibility of the supply line from Zarakhel reservoir to Dabb had already been completed.
They said that the previous provincial government had also approved funds for the project, but work on the scheme could not be initiated for unknown reasons.
The local people claimed that the people were forced to use rainwater for drinking purposes which was unfit for human consumption.
