'Bring back our people in Yemen'
Families of stranded Pakistanis that still remain in Yemen hold a rally for their rescue in Multan.
Pakistan faces an unenviable dilemma — whether to join a Saudi Arabia-led coalition fighting rebels in Yemen or stay out and risk angering its old ally which provides it with huge financial support.
Around 500 Pakistani citizens were evacuated earlier by a special plane from the war-torn Yemeni city of Hodeida, but according to Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry around 3,000 Pakistanis live in Yemen, with some 1,000 still trying to leave the country.
Yemen has seen growing turmoil since the Houthis launched a power takeover in Sanaa in February.
The situation worsened as Saudi Arabia and its Gulf allies launched military operations including air strikes to counter Iran-backed forces besieging the southern city of Aden, where the US-supported Yemeni president had taken refuge.

I thought we had brought all our kin from Yemen, how tragic, instead of wasting time whether to join the war or not , govt should first bring back all citizens stranded in war torn country , fearing for their lives , without shelter, food or water , please send all PIA planes at your disposal and private airlines too.

Cant see the wailing of mothers, daughters, wives ,sisters how irresponsible can the govt be, why are they dilly dallying , bring all Pakistanis back to homeland at once , all people should take out march , a million march and force govt for action.

@Ample Reverence For Saudi Arab & Pak Army The Government of Pakistan should stand neutral in this conflict . Pakistan Govt. should do all and bring back these patriots back to home.

Pakistan Government must rise to the occasion on the same scale as is followed by India. See indian rescue ships and planes are already on way just as their foreign minister of state has gone there to oversee the rescue operations. Modi has already spoken to the king of Saudi Arabia. The stranded citizens have been sending their earnings to help the economy. It is our turn to rescue them if they are in trouble.

With due respect to the families shown above, i do understand two things, one Yeman is also a muslim country and they are their brothers only. why they should feel unsafe there ? Most importantly, why Yeman, pakistan is equally dangerous and risky to stay. Why not to take chance in Yeman ?

Pakistan has failed to bring 250,000 Pakistanis from Bangladesh after 50 years, why they bother to bring 3000 from Yeman. It is shame that standard Pakistanis around the world still have a hope in politicians of a corrupt nation.

Pakistan either breaks it's word or it does not break it's word. Pakistan can recruit Afghan refugees into the army if Pakistani men won't go. Then the Afghans will have jobs.

A good idea. There would be stronger influence together on a critical issue. The Yemen rebels could not deny both countries. They are in enough hot water as it is.

Those stranded in Yemen are poor people who immigrated in the hope of hand some earnings but for the Governments they are only voters hence they are much worried in their evacuation. My prayers for these poor people and sympathies with the families.

On the other hand India has sent military air-crafts and ships and are also evacuating Sri Lankan and Bangladeshi nationals.....This is their efficiency and concern for their nationals abroad.....Pakistan should learn something hear rather that just talk and talk and talk....Also trying to take sides like how Pakistan is doing with Saudi is going to be its eventual demise....

These are humanitarian crisis, where India and Pakistan could cooperate. Indians are very good at repatriating their citizens. They would be miore than willing to help the brothers in Pakistan.

Relatives of Pakistani's stranded in Yemen should not be begging Nawaz Sharif or any one else to bring back their loved ones. It is the duty of the Government to bring back each and every Pakistani home. The Pakistani ambassador should have the last one to leave Yemen.

The title of the news item should read 'Bring back our people FROM Yemen'. The title as is gives the opposite meaning.
