SRINAGAR: Four soldiers were killed in India-held Kashmir after their vehicle was buried in an avalanche in the Himalayan region, an official said on Saturday.
Army troops recovered the bodies of three soldiers killed in the avalanche, which struck Chang La village in Leh district late on Friday, district official Swagat Biswas said.
Rescue workers were digging through snow drifts on Saturday to find the body of a fourth soldier also feared killed in the avalanche, he said.
No other details were immediately available.
Leh is about 435km east of Srinagar. Avalanches and landslides are common in the disputed Himalayan region.

The Indians are quick to recover the dead of the Occupation army in kashmir but ignored the kashmiris who died trapped by the floods in their own country of kashmir. No wonder the occupiers are despised and wanted out.

@Zak Why would an occupational army care for the people it occupies , it only cares for resources and land, use some logic , don't comment without thinking.

@Zak Please get your facts right as it was Indian army who evacuated thousands of marooned Kashmiris including separatists leaders and even provided food and shelter to them.

@Zaffar very well said - 1 simple question to any Pakistani or Dear Dawn -
Why Pakistan handover 1500 sq km land of Kashmir to China in 1965, which is now known as Axai Chin? - and so Pakistan don't have any right to say a word
about Kashmir.
forget Kashmir, as Pakistan just received billion $ Alms from IMF, and last year
billion $ Alms from USA - China.

No indian is allowed into IOK territory per article 370. Only Indian army is allowed and keep the IOK under curfew for 6 days out of 7.
One should ask Indians what history what culture they share withKashmir i????? The Kashmir region shares everything with Pakistan hence Pakistan has right over all Kashmir. Kashmiri don't even look like Indians nor they share any cultural ties with India.

@Last Word see the abuse being hurled at India and Indian army, during flood time. Even Abdullah Omar lambasted the indian army for not doing anything, but saving their own. But the indian media feeds false lies to the ignorant public, for people like you.

@Zak I see you are very concerned about safety ,security and wellbeing of kashmiris , so why don't you give them asylum, citizenship, jobs and whatever else you have planned for them in Pakistan and treat them well, India is aggressor and would not care what happens to kashmiris at least you care about them, then show it to the world how well Pakistan treats and how bad India treats them, is land more important for you than people of kashmir, your own kith and kin.
