KARACHI: Junior international Atiq Arshad has been named to lead defending champions National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) in the National Junior Hockey Championship being played at the Hockey Club of Pakistan from April 16 to 26.

NBP junior team comprised as many as 10 junior internationals in their line-up.

Former Pakistan captain Zeeshan Asharf will be manager-cum-chief coach, a spokesman of NBP sports department said while releasing the team.

Squad:

Goalkeepers: Usman Malik, Mohammad Raza, Mohammad Sabihuddin.

Fullbacks: Mubazhir Ali, Abid Hussain, Mohammad Owais.

Halfbacks: Mohammad Faizan, Sikander Mustafa, Junaid Kamal, Khizer Akhtar.

Forwards: Shan Irshad, Aamir Ali, Raheel Hasan, Atiq Arshad (captain), Mohammad Naveed, Mohammad Taimur, Mohammad Hasain, Wasim Aslam.

Officials: Zeeshan Ashraf (manager/chief coach), Fasih-ur-Rehman (assistant coach).
