ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) has decided to select senior lawyer Abdul Hafeez Pirzada to plead its case before the three-member Judicial Commission set up by the Supreme Court to investigate alleged rigging in 2013 general elections.

In a statement issued on Sunday, PTI General Secretary Jahangir Tareen said: “Mr Pirzada has kindly consented to lead the PTI legal team to present the PTI’s point of view on rigging of general elections 2013.”

According to Mr Tareen, the task force which the PTI had formed to gather material to prove the party’s claims that the elections had been heavily rigged had recommended Mr Pirzada’s name.

PTI chief Imran Khan approved the name of Mr Pirzada for the task.
