Toys for all
I REGULARLY read YW and I really like reading all the sections in it. I am a volunteer at SOS Children’s Village Rawalpindi. I collect toys for the children and also help my parents in organising fun activities for the children.
The reason I am writing is that we are privileged to have many toys in our homes, some of which remain unused because we have either outgrown them or are no more interested in playing with them. What we don’t realise is that there are thousands of children around us who do not have a single toy to play with.
So it is my request to children that they should give away the toys they don’t play with anymore to those who can’t afford to buy toys. And we can also pass on other things like our clothes, books, etc., to those in need. So by doing this, we surely will be playing our part in helping the needy people.
Don’t you want to see a smile on the faces of other kids when they have your toys to play? Let’s join hands and help others. Let’s bring about a change. Together we can do it.

A break is important
THIS is with reference to the story “A break is important” by Asra Arshad (YW, March 28, 2015). The story was a true depiction of what some children do when they study so enthusiastically that they even forget their meals and hanging out with friends, which are as important as taking breath.
If you miss out on these things then your mental ability to recall what you study will be highly affected and a time will come when you will not remember much of what you read. So in my opinion it is always best to study but without skipping meals and taking some time out to play with your friends so that your body and mind remain active and fresh always.

Quiz
THIS is with reference to the regular section “Quiz” by Ahzam Ahmed. It is indeed a great section giving a bundle of knowledge, however, for quite some weeks I have noticed that the quiz is focussing either on the human body or science in general, while there are a lot of other interesting fields like art, history, Hollywood, cartoons, etc. on which the quiz can be based to make the section more interesting.

World’s greatest magicians
THIS is regarding the cover story “The world’s greatest magicians” compiled by Ambreen Arshad (YW, March 28, 2015). I was astounded to read about these magicians and their amazing skills and tricks. Articles like this really help build our knowledge base and I am really thankful to the writer for compiling this for children.
