OKARA: District police have beefed up security measures for the upcoming Cantonment Board elections on April 25.

District Police Officer (DPO) Muhammad Faisal Rana called back all policemen on leave and established a control room to meet any complaints or inconvenience during the ongoing election campaign in five cantonment constituencies.

Police had issued strict directions against display of arms and aerial firing in the election areas.

Police would hold a flag march daily on the G.T. Road and other tenant villages falling in the cantonment jurisdiction.

SHOW-CAUSE: DPO Rana paid a surprise visit to the Crimes Investigation Agency station and issued show-cause notices to all staffers over negligence.

The DPO found all staff members “disinterested” and nothing was found in the record. He immediately directed to issue show-cause notices to three inspectors, three assistant sub-inspectors and 19 constables over negligence.
