Another feather in his cap: the heart-throbbing export Fawad Khan won the Best Male Debut Award at the IBNLive Movie Awards after beating the likes of Tiger Shroff, Inaamulhaq and Tahir Raj Bhasin, reported IBNLive.
The royal Rajput from Khoobsurat was voted best contender for the award by his fans across the border. Fawad was able to bag the award after receiving 48.54% of the total votes to be followed by Inaamulhaq of Filmistaan with 40.58%. Tiger Shroff from Heropanti could only get 2.45% of the votes and Mardaani's villain Tahir Raj Bhasin received 7.23%.
This is not the first time Fawad has received an award for his Bollywood debut, rather the star became the first Pakistani male actor to have received the prestigious Filmfare award last year along with the Masala award for his performance in Khoobsurat.
A survey also named him as the fifth best actor in India.
IBNLive Movie Awards are voted by the publication's readers who choose their favourites in different categories.

Once trade relationship is normalized,a lot more exports from Pakistan might find favor in India.

I think putting Tiger Sherof in the same category with him is an insult to the great talent that he possesses. Any one who got a chance to see even one episode of "Humsafar" would agree with me. And believe me this is nothing to do with patriotism but this man deserves to be placed with the very best. In the current Bollywood lot, only Amir Khan will be a close contender when it comes to acting. the rest, Shah rukhs, Salmans, Kapoor's , devgans etc tec do not even come close- this is how good he is. Before all Bollywood fans come out against me in numbers, I am only talking about the acting skills not the stardom. SRK and Salman etc are big stars but overrated actors. The only other two actor I admire in Bollywood would be the great Dilip kumar and Kamal Haasan.

Never heard of IBNlive movie awards? IBN an Indian news channel, too started Bollywood stars nigh awards. Every Indian channel, Colors, Star, Zee, besides Guild, IIFA, Filmfare of Sony, and much more, has their own awards, which are held in Dubai, Macau, Miami.

@XYZ-Indian Anything is possible as markets can grow bigger in any nation. Never underestimate Pakistan. Japan was hit by two Nuclear bombs and today Japan is one of the richest countries in the world. My prediction about the Pakistan cricket flop came true as PPL was needed. Now when Pakistan is terror free and if Imran Khan comes to power, I see Pakistan becoming one of the richest and fastest growing economies. Today will be the worst past InshaAllah.

he doesn;t know how to act, hes stiff, expressionless, thats why you see the camera hardly focusing on him, its usually a split second shot, no close ups, no nothing, and then comes the indian actress, full of expressions and dialogues, hes a robot not an actor, sorry, but since hes an export he has to be in good books for the countries reputation i suppose ?

@azmat yea you got a point with SRK and Salman but NOT with Ajay Devgan !! The man can act and act really well (He did win the national award) !!
Fawad has a long way to go to be even close to them and i sincerely wish him all the very best :)
Also, Good acting is not just being dramatic on screen, its about emoting !! i'd like to see Fawad try comedy and maybe some action, only then can you classify him as a good actor.
I'm not being anti-Pakistani but he has some serious competition from upcoming Indians like Ranbir, Shahid or even Ranveer !!
I doubt if Fawad can even get close to what Ranbir did in Barfi or Shahid in Haider.
Again, all the very best to Fawad though. if he does have the talent, i wish he becomes a big international star (who knows,he might end up saving Pakistani film industry)

In India there are thousand Awards like masti award,Ibn award,lux award,zee cine award ,Hungama award and xyz types every month there is male debut goes to someone......and these award is not making him star...award that matter is IIFA Award,National Filmfare award and 2-3 others which really goes to person who deserve and have value..

@ayesha gul Most of the Indian actors hold the same stardom in Pakistan as in India. Our industry is not big enough to appeal to them but still we see NaseeUddin Shah and various singers from across the border in our movies. I remember when Sonu Nigam visited Pakistan. He had some of the largest concerts in Karachi and Lahore.

Being a Pakistani, I am surprized. He is good, heart throb too, but come on, India has great emerging actors, look at some of the same level movies such as 'Khoobsurat". Why Fawad is being favored? any thoughts?

Its already happening - another is Nandita Das, an outstanding actress. These types of actors (Shah/Das) rather than the popular/standard 'masala' Bollywood types who mostlt cater to the lowest common denominator might be better appreciated in Pakistan with their discerning taste in movies.

@Mein_Jinn this is all commercial startegy. One pakistani in the lead role of indian movie will get good opening in pakistan and gulf countries where large chunk of pakistanis are settled. So cost of the movie is recovered and revenue from india and satelite rights is cool profit.

Well i seriously think that he was just ok in the movie khoobsurat.... even though he is a fine actor but there was nothing special about his acting in this particular movie. It was all in all Sonam kapoor show.... he hardly had any scenes in the film.... atleast tiger shroff showcased his acting, dancing n action skills in his debut... definately tiger deserved the filmfare award...

How can you compare apples & oranges? Best debut award is for debut, nomination of fawad is wrong as he is acting for decades. So what if not in hindi.
Tiger deserves the award in any case, he is talented too, shown his talent in action genre, will have to wait his performance in other geners

Neither Fawad Khan nor Tiger Shroff look Indian.. Fawad Khan is talented.. He should try his hand in Iranian cinema (he looks more Iranian than Indian).. Tiger Shroff - well no idea.. Alas, in India fair skin is the only standard for good looks..
