Zardari congratulated Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain for his party’s victory in NA-246 by-election.—AFP/File

KARACHI: Former president and PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari on Tuesday congratulated Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain for his party’s victory in NA-246 by-election.

Mr Zardari called the victory an answer to all allegations levelled against the party by its opponents, said a statement issued by the MQM.

Though there was no word from the Bilawal House about the details of conversation between the two leaders, the MQM statement said that in their telephonic contact Mr Zardari and Mr Hussain discussed overall political situation in the country.

Meanwhile, Mr Zardari met Sindh Governor Ishratul Ebad Khan at the Governor’s House, said a statement issued by the Governor’s House.
