QUETTA: Speaker Balochistan Assembly Jan Muhammad Jamali has tendered his resignation on Friday over differences with the Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N) leadership.

Jan Muhammad Jamali has sent his resignation to the PML-N's parliamentary leader in Balochistan Nawab Sanaullah Zehri.

Differences surfaced between Jamali and the party leadership during the last Senate elections over the distribution of tickets.

In clear violation of party policy, the Speaker and other PML-N members had supported their own candidates.

Speaker's daughter Sana Jamali contested over women seat, which was won by Kalsoom Parveen who was awarded ticket by the ruling PML N.

"The party has received the resignation of Jan Jamali," sources in the PML-N told Dawn.

Jan Muhammad Jamali had complained that Sibi and Nasserabad divisions were ignored in terms of distribution of Senate tickets.

The Speaker had also announced that Muslim League Balochistan will be formed.
