‘Militant’ killed, seven held

QUETTA: A suspected militant was killed and seven others were arrested during raids in Sui and Hub on Sunday.

According to official sources, Frontier Corps personnel launched a search operation in Biam Shai Nullah area of Sui on suspicion of presence there of some militants involved in attacks on gas pipelines and government installations.

An exchange of fire took place when the security personnel raided a house.

An FC spokesman said the suspected militant was killed and three men arrested at the house. They were involved in a number of subversive acts, he said, adding that illegal weapons and ammunition had also been seized.

The FC personnel also conducted a raid near Sakran Road in Hub and arrested four suspected militants. The spokesman claimed that the arrested men belonged to a banned group and automatic weapons had been seized from them.
