MUZAFFARGARH: Former prime minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani says agencies should make efforts for the recovery of his son Haider Ali Gilani.

He was talking to the media at the marriage ceremony of Budh Union Council Nazim candidate Rana Akhtar Husain Noon here on Sunday at Bhakkar Noon Village.

Gilani said: “I and Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari met with Afghanistan former president Hamid Karzai during our recent visit to Kabul and thanked him for the help Mr Karzai extended to search my son.”

“Someone said Haider Gilani is in Afghanistan and some agencies pointed out that he is in no-go areas, but I think the the agencies should search my son,” the former premier said.

Speaking of rigging in the 2013 general election, he said PPP had dubbed the entire exercise as ‘ROs’ election.’

Gilani said he called on National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq with a request to provide security to his predecessor Fehmida Mirza.

Gilani said the persistent backwardness and lack of education necessitated carving out a separate province.

People present on the occasion chanted slogans in favour of PPP and ‘Gilani Zindabaad.’

MPA Alamdar Qureshi of PML-N also attended the function.
