Essa Lab tennis from 16th

KARACHI: The third edition of Essa Lab Open Juniors and Seniors National Ranking Tennis Championships will be held here at Karachi Gymkhana from May 16 to 22.

The national ranking events to be competed in the championship are junior 18 boys, junior 18 girls, 16 and under singles, 14 and under singles, 12 and under singles, 10 and under singles, seniors 45 singles, senior 35 doubles and junior 18 doubles.

Men’s singles and men’s doubles will also be contested and will be considered as Sindh ranking events.

Meanwhile, special players events namely ‘girls hearing impairment singles’ and ‘boys intellectually challenged singles’ will also be organized. These special athletes will also be given basic tennis coaching.

The tournament carries a bumper prize purse of Rs 100,000. A daily allowance of Rs 600 per day until elimination will be given to all juniors main draw out-station players. Travelling allowance will also be given to all main draw out-station junior players and conveyance to all special athletes and their coaches.

The organizing committee will be headed by Khawaja Saeed Hai while Gulzar Firoz, Naheed Memon, Altaf Hussain and Arif Anis will be vice presidents. All entries can be sent to Referee and Tournament Director Khalid Rehmani.
