Students of pharmacy department, University of Swabi, continued their protest for the third day on Wednesday to demand facilities at the department’s laboratories.

The students rejected a proposal by the varsity administration to wait a month till the demanded facilities are provided, and vowed to continue agitating.

The environment in the university remained tense on Wednesday and there were reports that the management was considering to call police to quell the protest.

However, a contingent of police remained present in the varsity to deal with any untoward incident.

Sources said the pharmacy department chairman Dr Saleemullah and vice-chancellor Professor Noor Jehan discussed the issue and decided to start providing the required facilities to the labs in month, but the students declared that they would no more accept delaying tactics as their future was at stake.

The students said they wanted the facilities in a week or two.
