MANY a time, history is recorded in the most unlikely of places. Inside remote caves, in unique fossils, stone carvings, ancient artefacts, etc., but there is also a non-material side to recorded human history.

The echoes and effects left by instances and situations that imprint themselves in the form of paranormal or psychic energies. These events embed themselves in objects or are strangely attached to something that has unseen energies related to them. It is also said that our actions are sometimes recorded as echoes in time and space. And some individuals, like parapsychologists and profilers, can feel the places, people and even sounds coming off certain objects. Just like the interesting piece of artefact we have as our mystery today.

It is a necklace of Celtic origin, known to be 2,500 years old. Part of a non-profit educational corporation known as The Celtic Collection Programme, it is a part of a huge selection of ancient objects unearthed or discovered around Europe and other parts, located in Georgia, America. Many people have conducted educational research here and have found that one interesting piece of ancient jewellery, the Celtic necklace, has some unusual powers associated to it. Strangely, it is the only piece of ancient origin that has fascinated people due to its ability to make people who wear or handle it, experience paranormal.

Lewis Hales, historian, Councillor and author of many books writes that he bought the necklace in 2004 from the Sadigh Art Gallery Ancient Art in New York. The necklace was found during excavations in Central Europe and is considered a beautiful and rare work of art. Made of bronze, it is quite large and is now a greenish colour due to being in the ground for a long time. It is a 20inch long chain with 33 links and have three interesting pendants connected between the links.

One pendant is a bell and the other two are round. The circular main pendant represents the Celtic religious symbol and it is believed by experts that it might have been worn for religious as well as other ceremonial events and was owned by a female druid and was possibly worn to please or call upon a female goddess or deity.

Interestingly, each link has a different shape to emphasise the unique properties of a circle. The number three was considered sacred or powerful to the Celts and has been woven well into the interesting piece. Thirty-three links, three pendants written as 333, equals the number nine which again completes the theory of the number ‘3’. The Celtic people believed that the circle completed the meaning of life starting from birth, death and resurrection. The bell also has spiritual meaning as it is used by Catholic priests, there is a story regarding St Patrick who used a bell to drive evil forces away.

So, what happens when anyone adorns himself or herself with this piece of ancient jewellery? Quite a lot of interesting stuff here: in the first instant, the necklace was being professionally photographed for media purposes and was worn by a model from the institute, who was the Deputy and CEO. When the images were processed for publication, in one of the photos, there was the silhouette of a man dressed in a long black robe holding a clay or stone tablet of some sort. Quite baffling as there was no one behind the model who was standing alone while the team was all behind the camera! A druid or wizard from the past in a scene connected to the necklace? The images were tested professionally. No hoaxes were discovered.

The necklace it became famous and was exhibited for educational and media purposes, many individuals wore it. All had strange experiences even though they were not all the same. A paranormal researcher and psychic Erin Tomkins was called in to investigate. She stated that the image was connected to the necklace. All individuals who wore or even touched the necklace reported chills, feeling faint, losing their balance due to the overwhelming feeling of the power of the necklace. But after the initial reaction that they felt, all reported a feeling of calm, joy and peace. Maybe that is what it was used for.

A paranormal investigator by the name of Angel Salter was asked a few years back to investigate the necklace also. According to Lewis, she stated “I sensed a tremendous amount of energy that I have never felt before”. She claimed that a woman owned the necklace. Moreover, the previous psychic Erin, also reported that she could see scenes of campfires, ancient woods and large crowds of people.

Could these scenes be recorded in the ancient artefact as recordings in a modern CD or video? Are there extremely strong energies in nature that when harnessed or called upon; attach themselves to objects like metal? Whatever it is, there is so much to the unseen world that we know not.
