LAHORE: Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) Secretary Rana Mujahid on Thursday announced the 18-member national hockey squad for an upcoming tour to South Korea.

Talking to media at the National Hockey Stadium, he said Muhammad Imran will remain captain of the team while three changes had been made to the squad.

On the occasion, captain national hockey team Muhammad Imran said he was satisfied with the changes made in the team and it was an honour for all players to represent Pakistan, adding that money was not important for them.

The national team will leave for South Korea on Friday, where it will play a series of four test matches.

Pakistan's matches against South Korea will be played on May 19, 21, 23 and 24.

“Our team has learnt a great deal during their recent sojourn to Australia and the players will benefit more from the World Hockey League,” head coach Shahnaz Shaikh said in an interview ahead of his team's departure for Seoul.

He was confident that Pakistan's hockey team will qualify for next year's Olympics to be held in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) despite the difficulties it has been facing.
