Meanwhile, Commissioner Malakand Division, Kifayatullah Khan has asked all the stakeholders to ensure free and fair local government polls in the division.

Speaking at a meeting on Tuesday participated by police and army officials and deputy commissioners of all the district, he said conduct of free and fair LG polls was the top priority of the administration.

“Security in all the districts should be beefed up and coordination among the law enforcement agencies maintained to tackle any unpleasant situation,” he said, adding that maintaining a peaceful environment on the polling day was indispensable.

He warned the governmental officials to refrain from leave on the polling day. The health department should stay alert for meeting any emergency on the polling day, he said.
