ISLAMABAD: A division bench of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday dismissed an intra court appeal filed by death row prisoner Shafqat Hussain against the judgment of IHC single bench.

IHC single bench comprising Justice Athar Minallah on May 11 rejected the plea of Shafqat, seeking his age verification by a judicial forum.

The appeal was fixed before the division bench comprising Justice Noorul Haq N. Qureshi and Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui.

Shafqat’s lawyer Dr Tariq Hassan requested the court to set aside May 11 order.

As per the counsel, Shafqat was a juvenile when he was convicted by sessions court for kidnapping and murdering a seven year- old boy.
